Original publication title: Aortic tear and dissection related to connective tissues abnormalities resembling Marfan syndrome in a Great Dane.
- Species:
- dog
Plain-English summary
A 2-year-old Great Dane was brought in for sudden severe health issues related to a tear in the aorta, which is a major blood vessel. The dog showed signs of distress, and tests indicated a serious condition resembling Marfan syndrome, a disorder affecting connective tissues. Unfortunately, this type of aortic dissection is rare and can be life-threatening. The dog’s condition required immediate medical attention, but the outcome of the treatment was not specified.
