Species:
dog

Plain-English summary

A 17-week-old male Rottweiler puppy was found dead two days after showing signs of coughing and lethargy. A thorough examination revealed that he had fibrinosuppurative bronchopneumonia, a serious lung infection. Testing showed that a specific pathogen contributed to the pneumonia, which is not commonly recognized in dogs but is known to cause similar issues in other species. Unfortunately, despite the findings, there was no treatment to save the puppy, highlighting the severity of this condition.
