Abstract

Neurological, respiratory, and gastrointestinal signs in a 2-month-old veal calf were suggestive of a possible herd problem. Autopsy revealed an umbilical abscess, an abscess on the soft palate, and mild chronic enteritis and pulmonary edema. Virologic and bacteriologic investigations did not provide a definitive diagnosis.
