Plain-English summary
A 3-year-old female Plott hound was brought in after showing severe itching on her face, swelling, and drooling. She had recently been hunting feral hogs with three other dogs, two of which had already died from similar symptoms. Unfortunately, this dog did not survive either. The case highlights the dangers of canine pseudorabies, a serious viral infection that can affect dogs.
