Plain-English summary

A group of 22 cats with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) showed symptoms like frequent urination, straining to urinate, and blood in their urine. The veterinarians at K and P Clinic in Surabaya found that inserting a catheter was essential for treating cases where a blockage occurred in the urethra. This procedure helped relieve the cats' discomfort and allowed them to urinate normally again. Overall, catheterization proved to be an effective treatment for these cats suffering from FLUTD.
