Plain-English summary
Homeopathy is a type of medicine that works on the idea that similar things can help heal similar problems. Instead of focusing on a specific diagnosis, homeopathy looks at the individual symptoms and characteristics of the patient to find the right treatment. The medicines used are made through a special process that dilutes them to very small amounts, which can still have strong effects on the body. Homeopathy can be used for both short-term and long-term health issues. While some people find it helpful, it's important to discuss with your veterinarian whether it could be a good option for your pet's specific needs.
Abstract
Homeopathy is a system of medicine based on the principle of "Let likes be cured by likes", with determination of the appropriate medicine based on the patient's unique presentation rather than a diagnostic name. The actions of the medicines are elucidated by testing (provings). The medicines are prepared in by the process of "potentization," resulting in low doses, often containing only nanoparticles, which elicit profound effects in patients. Both acute and chronic diseases can be cured with homeopathy.
