Plain-English summary
A dog was brought in for urinary incontinence and was found to have several unusual conditions, including a bipartite scrotum and a birth defect where the urethra is not in the correct position (hypospadias). Tests showed that the dog had ectopic ureters, which are misplaced ureters, and kidney problems. The vet performed surgery to correct the hypospadias and the ectopic ureters, while also managing the dog's kidney disease and urinary tract infections with medication over the following months. The dog received the necessary treatments and was monitored for improvement.

Abstract
A dog was examined due to urinary incontinence. On physical exam a bipartite scrotum, hypospadias, and hypodontia were observed. Retrograde cystourethrography and abdominal ultrasonography revealed bilateral ectopic ureters and renal dysplasia, respectively. The hypospadias and ectopic ureters were surgically corrected, and the patient's renal disease and recurrent urinary tract infections were medically managed over the next several months. This paper describes possible embryological etiologies for this unique case.
