Abstract
Congenital abnormalities range from the extremely complex and life-threatening to somewhat minor or correctable defects, which the neonate can continue to thrive. Understanding normal neonatal development, risks of obtaining said abnormalities, what can be done with those conditions, and which can be managed and or treated, is key when guiding breeders/owners on how to handle these cases.
