Plain-English summary
A pet rabbit can develop dental disease, which is a common issue among these animals. Research shows that about one in seven pet rabbits in the UK suffer from dental problems due to their continuously growing teeth. Regular dental check-ups are essential to help prevent these issues and keep your rabbit's teeth healthy. If you notice your rabbit having trouble eating or showing signs of discomfort, it's important to consult your veterinarian for an examination and potential treatment.

Abstract
There are approximately 1.1 million pet rabbits in the UK. Rabbit teeth continue to grow throughout their lifetime, and dental problems are not uncommon. New research from the Royal Veterinary College has identified that one in seven companion rabbits are experiencing dental disease. There are various risk factors which can contribute to dental disease, but all companion rabbits should have regular dental check-ups to maintain good dental health.
