Abstract
Adolescent obesity and overweight cases are highly prevalent in emerging nations undergoing nutritional transition. Obesity is associated with significant comorbidities and health issues, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary artery disease, orthopedic issues, low self-esteem, and diminished quality of life. Research has shown that well-designed interventions are required to lower the risk of obesity and the burden of death and morbidity related to noncommunicable illnesses. A Cochrane review discovered that interventions combining diet, exercise, and other behavioral facets appear to be more effective in controlling obesity. Adult weight-loss interventions are not very successful, which highlights the need to prevent childhood obesity.
