Abstract
Strangles is a disease caused by a bacterial infection of the upper airway and lymph nodes which is highly contagious in horse populations. This article describes the clinical signs, complications, diagnosis, treatment, management, vaccination, and prevention for non-veterinary audiences. Includes references.
