Abstract
This retrospective study reported the clinical presentation, histopathologic findings, treatment, results of clinical staging, necropsy findings, and survival times for 20 cats with oral melanoma. The median survival time was 102 days, with a one-year survival rate of 15% ( = 3). Metastatic disease was documented in 5 cases. Cats with metastatic disease, tumors within the oral cavity (in contrast to labial tumors), and those treated only palliatively after diagnosis had shorter survival times. One case was monitored from the time of presentation until euthanasia.
