Abstract
On 14 August 2024, World Health Organization declared Mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern due to the risk of international spread of clade Ib. We report the first documented case of human-to-human transmission outside the African endemic regions with no history of travel in the case or their contacts. Maintaining surveillance and precautionary measures is essential to prevent a potential spread in cases caused by clade Ib in non-endemic areas. Further data on transmission and virulence are still required.
