Plain-English summary
A 9-year-old male Brazilian Fila dog was brought in with a growth on the nictitating membrane (the third eyelid) of his right eye that had been developing for four months. The dog showed signs of redness and swelling in the eye, along with a bloody discharge and a noticeable mass. The veterinarian performed surgery to remove the growth, and tests revealed it was hemangiosarcoma, a type of cancer that forms in blood vessels. The dog underwent surgery, which is a common treatment for this condition.

Abstract
It was reported a case of a 9-year-old Brazilian Fila male dog that had been affected by a tissular formation of the nictitant membrane of the right eye with four months of evolution. Conjunctival hyperemia and edema, serosanguinolent secretion, and a conjunctival neoformation at the nictitant membrane were observed. Surgical exeresis of the neoformation was performed.
