Abstract

To enhance the sealing performance of the slipper pair in CO2 swash plate axial plunger pumps, multiring grooves and hole-pattern grooves were machined on the slipper surface. Using transient numerical simulation methods, the sealing performance of the liquid films in multiring groove slipper pairs and hole-pattern groove slipper pairs was comparatively analyzed against that of flat-type slipper pair liquid films. Numerical simulation results indicate that, compared to the nongrooved flat-type slipper pair liquid film, machining multiring grooves on the slipper surface reduces leakage by 33.01%, while machining hole-pattern grooves reduces leakage by 58.25%. Machining groove structures increases the liquid film lifting force; fluid flow within the grooves generates hydrodynamic pressure, resulting in enhanced liquid film stability. The research findings provide a reference for optimizing the sealing performance of plunger pump slipper pairs.
