Abstract

<h4>Objectives</h4>This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effectiveness and safety profiles of different parenteral medications for the management of acute severe behavioural disturbance in the emergency department setting. These medications are required following the failure of less restrictive means of controlling the patient's behavioural disturbance.
