Plain-English summary

A 5-month-old cat was brought in because it was urinating through its belly button, and the area around the umbilical scar was red and inflamed. The vet diagnosed the issue as a condition called urachal persistence, which is when a fetal structure doesn't close properly after birth. To confirm the diagnosis, the vet used various tests, including imaging studies. Treatment options were not detailed, but addressing this condition typically involves surgical intervention to correct the abnormality.
