Abstract
Extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli pose a One Health concern. We report potential transmission of a CTX-M-8-producing E. coli ST961 strain between a French Bulldog and its owner. Both isolates showed similar antimicrobial resistance and virulence profiles, with only 30 SNP differences, highlighting zoonotic transmission risk and integrated health strategies.
