Plain-English summary
An 8-year-old male domestic shorthair cat was brought in with symptoms including not eating much, occasional coughing, and changes in behavior. Unfortunately, the vet discovered that the cat had serious infections in the lungs and brain caused by a fungal infection called systemic Aspergillosis. Despite the efforts to diagnose and understand the condition, the cat did not survive. This case highlights the seriousness of systemic Aspergillosis in cats and the importance of recognizing symptoms early.
