Abstract
Many pet parrots are kept alone or in single-sex pairs. Nonetheless, they may come into lay. Lack of preparation (biologically, husbandry, or nutrition) can result in severe consequences. In some cases, persistent egg laying can become a nutritional drain on the bird. This article will discuss some of the underlying reasons for a parrot coming into lay, how to avoid this situation and how to treat it.
