Abstract

There is a great need for the development of mouse models of ocular hypertension. Here, we describe an inducible mouse model of ocular hypertension that produces a homogeneous intraocular pressure (IOP) response and can be induced in any mouse strain of choice without the need for extensive breeding. The procedure utilizes an ocular hypertension and glaucoma-relevant transgene, bioactivated TGFβ2, and an adenovirus 5 virus with select tropism for the trabecular meshwork (TM).
