The research on water control and oil stabilization technologies in ultra-low permeability reservoirs of the Jiyuan oilfield under the control of reservoir architecture.

Abstract

The Geng 60 area of the Jiyuan Oilfield, with its Chang 4 + 5 reservoir, is a typical ultra-low permeability reservoir. Affected by reservoir heterogeneity, the development process has seen increasing contradictions both in the plane and profile, with the number of water-producing oil wells rising year by year, and conventional methods of water control and oil stabilization becoming more difficult. This paper, based on reservoir configuration studies, is guided by the waterflooding development issues under different configurations. It establishes a series of technologies under configuration control, including high-quality reservoir distribution, fine injection-production regulation, water shutoff and profile modification, and enhanced oil recovery. The technical series are systematically summarized and evaluated for their effectiveness in addressing the challenges of water control and oil stabilization. This technology series, suitable for the ultra-low permeability reservoir in the Geng 60 area of the Jiyuan Oilfield, can serve as a reference for the stable production development of similar reservoirs in China.
