Abstract

A temporary microaxial left ventricular assist device is commonly implanted via the right axillary artery to treat decompensated heart failure or cardiogenic shock. However, limited literature describes implantation in a variant aortic arch anatomy setting. We present a case of implantation via the right axillary artery in a patient with an aberrant right subclavian artery (Arteria Lusoria) as a bridge to heart transplantation.
