Abstract

The over‐the‐top placement of prosthetic materials for repair of the cranial cruciate ligament in dogs necessitates much tissue dissection and trauma. Instruments often are stressed beyond their limits, resulting in damage to the instrument. Therefore, an instrument was designed for easier passing of the graft. This graftpasser conforms to the anatomy of the caudal surface of the lateral condyle of the stifle, and facilitates rapid positioning of the graft in close contact with the bone. The instrument was successfully used for this purpose in several surgical cases.
