Abstract
Nine new species of chewing lice in the genusKéler, 1936 , are described from North American hosts. They aren. sp. from(Say, 1822) andGriscom, 1928;n. sp. from(Gmelin, 1789);n. sp. from(Grinnell, 1917);n. sp. fromSclater, 1857, andBonaparte, 1838;n. sp. from(Swainson, 1827);n. sp. from(Linnaeus, 1758);n. sp. from(Wilson, 1811);n. sp. from(Wilson, 1810); andn. sp. from(Linnaeus, 1758).( Burmeister, 1838 ) is redescribed and illustrated from North American material. A key for these North American species is provided.
