Plain-English summary

A dog with anemia and unusual red blood cell shapes, especially eccentrocytes, may be at a higher risk for lymphoma compared to inflammatory bowel disease. If your dog shows signs of anemia, like weakness or pale gums, it's important to consult your veterinarian for further testing. Early detection can lead to better treatment options.
